Sprucing up the strip

The Trianon cafe -- a stalwart of the Alexandria social scene for decades -- opened up a Cairo branch recently, smack in the heart of the fast food and shopping strip on Gamaat Al-Dowal Al-Arabia Street in Mohandiseen. The Danish street cafe's fin de siecle atmosphere is worlds apart from that of its neighbors on Gamaat El-Dowal Street, which include McDonald's, Little Ceaser's Pizza and even Big Boy's.
